PPC advertising in Gurugram: stop wasting money on Google Ads

I audit a lot of Google Ads accounts in Gurugram. About 70% of them are hemorrhaging money. The ads are running, money is leaving the account, but customers aren’t showing up.

The problem isn’t PPC. PPC works. Google Ads is one of the best ways to get qualified customers right now. The problem is that most businesses in Delhi NCR don’t know how to set it up.

They bid on the wrong keywords. Their landing pages don’t match their ads. They don’t have conversion tracking. They’re optimizing for clicks instead of customers. Then they spend Rs 2,00,000 per month on Google Ads and get nothing.

I’m going to walk you through how to actually run PPC that works.

Start with the right keywords, not the cheap ones

Most people bidding on Google Ads in Gurgaon make the same mistake. They bid on broad, cheap keywords. They get a lot of clicks. None of them convert.

Here’s the thing about Google Ads: you’re not buying keywords. You’re buying customer intent. A click from someone searching “how to learn digital marketing” is worthless if you’re selling digital marketing services. That person is still learning. They’re not ready to buy.

A click from someone searching “digital marketing agency Gurgaon” or “PPC management services near Cyber City” is gold. That person is ready to buy. They’re looking for someone like you right now.

We start every Google Ads campaign by finding high-intent keywords. In 2025, we use Google Ads Keyword Planner, Semrush, and our own search volume data from client websites. We’re looking for keywords with 10-100 searches per month that have commercial intent. Lower volume, higher quality.

Most agencies will bid on 500+ keywords. We bid on 30-50. We get fewer clicks. But our cost per acquisition is 60-70% lower because the quality is better.

Your landing page matters more than your ad

I’ve seen amazing ads send people to horrible landing pages. The ad promises one thing, the page delivers something else. Person leaves. Money wasted.

Your landing page needs to match the promise in your ad. If your ad says “Digital marketing for Gurgaon startups,” your page needs to be about digital marketing for startups. Not just a homepage.

At eCorpIT, we create specific landing pages for each campaign. Not just variations. Different pages. When we’re running Google Ads for local services in Gurugram, the page talks about serving Gurgaon and Delhi NCR. It mentions Cyber City, DLF Phase, Sector 47, specific places.

Page speed matters too. In 2025, 53% of people abandon a website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. Google also ranks slower pages lower in ads. We optimize every landing page for speed.

A good landing page converts 3-5% of visitors into leads or customers. A bad one converts 0.5%. That difference is huge when you’re paying for traffic.

Bid on the actual competition, not volume

Google Ads has different campaign types. Most businesses default to Search, which is fine. But the strategy needs to change based on your goal.

If you want leads, we use Search with low bids on high-intent keywords. Maybe Rs 20-50 per click. If you want to build a list of interested people, we use Google Shopping or Display Network with low bids and lots of keywords.

In Gurgaon, we see a lot of agencies trying everything at once. Search, Display, Shopping, Video. All in one campaign. That’s a mess. We separate by objective.

We also bid differently based on time and day. During business hours, we bid higher on Google Ads because people are actively searching for services. During evenings and weekends, we lower bids because the quality is lower.

For e-commerce in Sector 29 tech companies, we bid higher on Thursday-Friday because people are buying. Lower on Sundays.

Conversion tracking is not optional

This is the biggest mistake. Most PPC campaigns in Gurugram have zero conversion tracking. They optimize for clicks. They get a lot of clicks. They have no idea if any of them turn into customers.

Conversion tracking means: when someone clicks your ad, comes to your page, and does something valuable (fills a form, makes a purchase, calls you), you track that. Google learns which keywords and ads lead to conversions. It optimizes spending toward those.

Without conversion tracking, you’re flying blind. With it, Google’s algorithm gets smarter every week. After 50-100 conversions, Google’s Smart Bidding becomes really good at finding customers.

Setting up conversion tracking takes maybe two hours. You put a pixel on your website, set up goals in Google Analytics, connect them to Google Ads. That’s it. But most businesses don’t do it.

Set realistic budgets and adjust weekly

A lot of businesses in Delhi NCR throw money at Google Ads without knowing how much they can afford to spend. They set a monthly budget, hope for the best, then either run out of budget on day 15 or blow past it.

The right approach: figure out your customer lifetime value, figure out how much you can afford to spend per customer, then calculate your daily budget. If you can afford Rs 2,000 per customer and you want 10 customers per month, that’s Rs 20,000 per month. Divide by 30, you get Rs 667 per day.

Then start at Rs 500 per day. See what happens. Track conversion cost. After 2 weeks, you know if you should increase or decrease.

We adjust Google Ads budgets every week for clients. If a keyword is converting well, we increase the budget. If it’s wasting money, we pause it. Most agencies set it and forget it. That’s why they waste money.

Real ROI means customer lifetime value, not one purchase

A lot of business owners in Gurgaon look at one transaction and say “I spent Rs 100 on the ad, got Rs 150 in revenue, so I made Rs 50 profit.” That’s short-term thinking.

A real customer might buy from you five times, refer friends, leave reviews, become a brand advocate. The actual lifetime value might be Rs 2,000 or Rs 5,000.

In 2025, we calculate payback period for Google Ads. First purchase covers the ad cost. Everything after that is profit. For most B2B services in Gurugram, payback takes 2-4 weeks. Then the customer is pure profit.

This changes your strategy. You can afford to spend more on paid ads in the first week because you’re playing a longer game. A business that only counts the first sale will look like PPC doesn’t work. A business that counts the relationship will see amazing ROI.

Frequently asked questions

What’s a realistic cost per click on Google Ads in Gurugram?

Depends on the industry, but between Rs 10-100 per click for most service businesses in Gurgaon. E-commerce and finance are more expensive, Rs 100-500 per click. Real estate is Rs 50-150. Compare your costs to your customer lifetime value, not to other businesses.

How much should I spend on Google Ads per month?

Start small, Rs 20,000-30,000 per month for testing. As you learn what keywords work, scale up. Most businesses in Delhi NCR should be spending Rs 50,000-150,000 per month for serious ROI. But quality matters more than budget.

How long before PPC starts working?

You’ll get clicks and traffic immediately. Real conversions take 1-2 weeks to accumulate enough data to optimize. Serious results (profitable campaigns) take 4-8 weeks for most businesses in Gurgaon.

Should I run Google Ads or Facebook Ads?

Different purposes. Google Ads work for people actively searching for what you offer. Facebook works for awareness and building audiences. Most businesses need both. Start with Google Ads if you’re selling something specific.

Why are my Google Ads not converting?

Usually: wrong keywords, bad landing page, no conversion tracking, or not enough time for learning. Get conversion tracking set up first, then optimize the landing page, then adjust your keywords. Most issues are solved in 2-3 weeks.
